An interplay of pathophysiological processes associated with the chronic kidney disease milieu contribute to the pathogenesis of CKD-associated cardiomyopathy. These can be broadly divided into factors which increase afterload, preload, and those which result from maladaptive perturbations of intrinsic factors.
