For Southern blot hybridization of the two clonal isolates depicted in Fig. 1A and 3, genomic DNAs were digested with HindIII restriction enzyme and probed with the nt-2 oligonucleotide probe, which represents sequences complementary to the N-terminus-encoding region common to vspC and vspO (A), with vspA cassette 2-specific probe cas-2 (B), or with vspO-specific probe ro-2 (C).
