Flow cytometry of CD8⁺ T cells and macrophages. Levels of CD8⁺ cells producing IFN-γ and macrophages producing IL-12 were higher in the 129/SvEv than IFN-γR^−/− mice. Restimulated cultures of mock-infected mice had few cells, and cultures from 129/SvEv and IFN-γR^−/− mice generated approximately equivalent numbers of IL-12⁺ MAC-1⁺ cells (0.7% and 0.5%, respectively).
