Silver solutions reduce infectious titre of HSV-1 in a time-dependent manner. Incubation of 7 × 107 plaque forming units (PFU) with nanosilver solution reduced infectious titre by 54 % at 1 h, four-fold at 4 h, and five-fold by 24 h (A).
