Adherence of S. aureus to endothelial cells treated with PBS–0.1% BSA, PPP, and PRP. Two hundred microliters of plasma was placed on the EC monolayer and incubated for 20 min at 37°C. After washing, 2 × 10⁸ CFU of radiolabeled S. aureus (wild type [WT] and sar mutant) was added to the samples and subjected to flow for 20 min at 37°C. Samples were washed, and adherent bacteria were solubilized with 2% SDS.
