Fig. 2 — Early/pre-fibrotic PMF is characterized by a hypercellular marrow with pronounced granulopoiesis and increased number of megakaryocytes, usually forming dense clusters and displaying atypical morphology. Erythropoiesis is often reduced, particularly in cases with increased reticulin fibrosis (MF-1)
