Weighted (A) and unweighted (B) access index scores derived from 17 categories defined by the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL),¹⁴ with higher scores on the index representing lower access (also see the eMethods in the Supplement). We chose Alabama (AL), New York (NY), Texas (TX), and Washington (WA) semirandomly to provide a visual presentation of the dynamics of the access index over time. Note that year labels are abbreviated due to space constraints.
