The “supposed adsorption strength” is here classified based on the difference between AlumOH PZC (11.4) and antigen IEP, with the assumption of the greater the difference, the stronger the interaction. However, other mechanisms including for instance net charge at different pH, hydrogen, and hydrophobic bonding, van der Waals’ forces can play a role in adsorption.
