The antioxidant activity of PEG-BA and BA using the DPPH assay. The antioxidant potential was assessed at varying concentrations (0.78–100 µM). The conjugate, PEG-BA, exhibited a dose-dependent antioxidant effect resulting in the highest antioxidant potential compared with ascorbic acid and BA-only. This was indicated by the IC50 values shown in brackets on the graph. Data are shown as mean ± SEM (n = 4), *: p < 0.05, **: p < 0.01 and ***: p < 0.001.
