The minimum incubation time (h) necessary to get accurate estimates for Dmax and DC50 (i.e., estimates that are less than a factor of 1.5 (DC50) or less than 5% (Dmax) different from the steady-state values) is given for different threshold values (Dmaxx) and different proteins (t½,Px). A green box indicates that 24 h should be sufficient, while orange means that it takes longer than that. The required incubation time decreases with increasing Dmax and decreasing t½,P.
