mRNA content of atrophy markers muscle RING-finger protein-1 (MURF1) (A, n = 10), atrogin (B, n = 10), ubiquitin C (UBC) (C, n = 10), and growth arrest and DNA damage-inducible 45α (Gdd45a) (D, n = 10) was measured using quantitative PCR in the quadriceps of all groups. This was also completed in the diaphragm (EH; n = 10).
