Control transfections include Scar-W (n = 242) and N-WASP (n = 325), which do not interfere with actin polymerization. Scar-WA (n = 178) and Scar-W (n = 184) expression does not inhibit T. gondii infection (which is independent of host cell actin), ruling out nonspecific inhibition of parasite invasion.
