Location of the temporo-parietal junction (TPJ) on the right-hemisphere cerebral cortex. The TPJ is located where the temporal and parietal lobes meet, not far from the occipital (visual) cortex. Studies have shown that functional modifications of the activation of the TPJ can lead to generating OBEs (compare text). The basic brain model has been modified from Nieuwenhuys et al.
