UTMD promotes the uptake of injected exosomes in the targeted tissues. (A) Schematic representation of the experimental procedure. Labeled exosomes, together with the SonoVueTM microbubbles were injected via tail vein. Distribution of the labeled exosomes was tracked by fluorescence imaging. (B) Fluorescence signal intensity in the tissues (in heart, adipose tissue and liver) with or without UTMD. (C) Quantification of Fluorescent signal. (D) CSML image revealing the increased uptake of DiI-labeled exosomes in indicated tissues by UTMD. Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst and scale bar = 50 μm. The image was reproduced from the article published in Drug Delivery Journal by Sun, Li, Yuan and Co-workers in the year 2019 [425].
