Total hip arthroplasty
Complications	Other Small right hip greater trochanter avulsion fracture, noted 2 weeks postoperatively.	Neurological (CVA/stroke) New onset right hand numbness and weakness at 4 days postoperatively. Diagnosed with a stroke at the emergency room and started on Clopidogrel.
	Other Some swelling in both lower extremities.	Other Three syncopal episodes in 1 day. Went to emergency room. Issues resolved spontaneously.
	Other Bilateral lower extremity weeping oedema.	Other Intraoperative calcar crack treated with prophylactic cerclage cabling.
	Other Hyperkalaemia postoperatively.
	Other Posterior dislocation (twice). Closed reduced in the emergency room.
Total knee arthroplasty
Complications		Infection Stitch abscess ‘deep’ in the most distal aspect of the incision. The ‘abscess’ completely resolved with a course of oral antibiotics.
		Other Hyponatraemia postoperatively.
