Helminth therapy offers several advantages over therapy using helminth-derived products. Although potential stigma associated with the use of live helminths in therapy is apparently not a significant hurdle,77 some financial hurdles may exist for the approach as it moves through regulatory channels.113,114,133 Illustrations of individual molecules in the diagram are taken from the protein data bank134 are shown for illustrative purposes only, and do not necessarily reflect molecules found within any helminth secretome.
