Enzyme activities. Caco-2 cells were treated with digested cinnamon extract at 23 and 46 µg/mL polyphenols for 24 h, with 1 mM H2O2 for 1 h and with 1 mM H2O2 for 1 h after digested cinnamon extract pretreatment. Results of SOD (A), CAT (B), GR (C), GPx (D) and GST (E) activities are expressed as folds with respect to untreated control and are shown as mean ± SEM from three independent experiments. Statistical significance: * p < 0.05, *** p < 0.001 respect to untreated cell line; § p < 0.05, §§§ p < 0.001 respect to H2O2-treated cell line.
