Effect of compound IIIc on gene expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines in LPS-activated BV-2 cells. Cells were pretreated with 6.25 μM IIIc 1 h prior to incubation with LPS (1 μg/ml) for 24 h. mRNA IL-1β (A), IL-6 (B) and TNF-α (C) were determined by quantitative real-time PCR as described in Material and Methods. The relative level of mRNA was normalized to the expression of HPRT mRNA. The results are expressed as mean ± SD for each group from three independent experiments. Statistical analysis by one-way ANOVA showed significant differences between the groups (α = 0.05) and was followed by Fisher’s LSD test. Data indicated with ***p < 0.001, *p < 0.05 (versus vehicle-treated cells) and &&&p < 0.001, &p < 0.05 (versus LPS-treated cells) reflects statistically significant differences between control and experimental groups
