Interventions	Intervention: myo‐inositol  Control: placebo
Outcomes	Primary outcome: gestational diabetes  Secondary outcomes: gestational weight gain; need for metformin or insulin therapy; mode of delivery; hypertensive disorders of pregnancy; large for gestational age at delivery; small for gestational age at delivery; macrosomia; shoulder dystocia and birth injury; polyhydramnios; neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) admission for > 24 hours; neonatal hypoglycaemia requiring intravenous glucose; preterm delivery (< 37 weeks gestation); transient tachypnoea of the newborn; respiratory distress syndrome (RDS).
