The acyl-CoA conjugation rate of GLYAT was tested with varying concentrations of benzoyl-CoA (green) and isovaleryl-CoA (pink) using 20 mM glycine. The reaction rate of GLYAT correlates with increases in benzoyl-CoA concentration. While there are minor fluctuations in the conjugation rate of isovaleryl-CoA, overall, it appears as if the conjugation rate is largely independent of isovaleryl concentrations at or below 500 µM. Error bars indicate the mean ± standard deviation for triplicate assays.
