Participants	Number of participants: 452 Diabetes type: T2D Inclusion criteria: patients who were diagnosed with T2D and followed annually or more often for more than 5 years at a hospital‐based diabetic clinic (Asan Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea) Exclusion criteria: PDR at the initial examination, with concomitant ocular disease other than DR, or history of ocular trauma or intraocular surgery were excluded
