Dicentrine affects the cell cycle and induces apoptosis in cancer cells. HeLa cells were treated with DMSO (negative control) or increasing doses of Dicentrine (10, 25, 50 µM) for the indicated times and then processed for flow cytometry analysis. (A) Cells were stained with propidium iodide (PI), and an analysis of the cell cycle was performed. Quantification of the percentage of cells in subG1 and G2/M phases are reported in red and in black, respectively. (B) Two-dimensional scatter plots of Annexin V analysis performed on HeLa cells untreated or treated with growing doses of Dicentrine (10, 25, 50 µM) for 72 h. Red boxes evidence the populations of Annexin V-positive cells. One representative image is shown for each experiment.
