The Comproportionation of XO2e− with XOox. Intermolecular electron transfer from XO2e−, containing approximately equal amounts of the two electron distributions shown in parentheses, with XOox yields two molecules of XO1e−, which has the single electron predominantly in the higher-potential Fe/S II center. The molybdenum center remains largely oxidized in both XO2e− and XO1e−.
