Several signs of pyogenic spinal infection were evident, including a reduction in the T12/L1 disc space (arrow), heterogeneously contrast-enhancing anterior epidural fluid collection, consistent with an epidural phlegmon (arrowhead), and contrast enhancement of the T12 and L1 vertebral bodies (asterisks *), consistent with vertebral osteomyelitis.
