Hypothesis-free differences in global functional connectivity in fighter pilots compared to controls. The left inferior frontal gyrus (IFG) in fighter pilots showed decreased participation in whole-brain connectivity compared to controls, probed by the intrinsic connectivity contrast (ICC). Decreases in ICC are shown in magenta and are scaled by t-statistic (p < 0.005 uncorrected at the voxel-level, p < 0.05 family-wise error rate corrected at the cluster-level).
