UCHL1-specific inhibitor suppresses expression of COL1A1. (a, b) UCHL1 inhibitor represses the expression of COL1A1 in H1299 (a) or BEAS-2B (b) cells. Both cell lines were sham-exposed or exposed with LDN57444, a UCHL1 inhibitor, when the cells were 80% confluent. The control group was treated with equal volumes of DMSO. Cells were harvested with TRIzol at 24 h post treatment. The mRNA expression of COL1A1, fibronectin, CNN1, and CDH1 were determined by real-time qRT-PCR (n = 4). Statistical significance was determined using two-tailed unpaired t-test, *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001.
