Age as a risk factor for VTE in patients with SCI. A. Primary analysis; there was no association between the risk of VTE in patients with SCI and age. There was evidence of significant heterogeneity between studies (I² = 80%, P = 0.0002). B. Sensitivity analysis omitted three studies that did not include age as a categorical variable. The risk of VTE in patients with SCI was significantly associated with age >45 years. There was no evidence of heterogeneity between studies (I² = 48%, P = 0.14).
