IR-61 promotes phagocytosis and protein levels of Nrf2-Macro/Msr1 in PMs from CLP-induced septic mice. (a) pHrodo-labeled E. coli were injected into the peritoneal cavity 24 h after IR-61 treatment in the CLP-induced septic mice. After 1 h, PMs were extracted and the uptake was determined by flow cytometry (Vehicle vs IR-61 p < 0.0001; n = 6 mice per group). (b) Immunoblots of Nrf2, Marco and Msr1 in whole cell lysates from the PMs in CLP-induced septic mice treated with IR-61 or PBS for 24 h. β-actin was used as the loading control (n = 4 mice per group). Results are presented as the mean ± SD (∗∗∗p < 0.001; two-sided Student’s t-test).
