Some genes are also expressed significantly in other cell types not shown (e.g. RLBP1 is expressed also in Muller cells). Also, some genes (including those not shown within this figure) have a wider role in development, but expression is more restricted in adults (e.g. VSX2 is expressed in retinal progenitor cells in development, but mainly in bipolar cells in the mature retina).
