Notes.

This species was originally described as Celsiasinuata by Cavanilles (1801: 68) based on material collected by Broussonet in Tangier, Morocco (Benedí and Montserrat 1998). When the genus Celsia was subsumed in the genus Verbascum the epithet sinuata could not be used for this species as it already exists in the combination Verbascumsinuatum L. for another species. We concur with the conclusion of Benedí and Montserrat (1985) that the correct name for this plant in question is V.erosum Cav.
