In the D. melanogaster Release 3 Annotation, only CG12423 is listed, and CG17925 has been eliminated. However, we note that cDNA evidence in D. melanogaster suggests a presence of one continuous gene that spans both CG12423 and CG17925 regions, whose structure is apparently conserved in D. pseudoobscura.
