junB proband-based rule. This I/E response proband rule uses junB as proband. junB, which is also regarded as an immediate early response gene [Lau, L. F. & Nathans, D. (1987) Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 84, 1182–1186], shows expression that is later than c-fos’s and is sustained for a longer period of time. With the threshold of correlation coefficient equal to 0.8, 21 genes were found to satisfy this rule. A FDR of 0.29 was estimated by random permutation of the dataset values among the time points 100 times.
