Movie 1.
This video shows a typical sham-operated (lesion control) animal versus a typical treated (scaffold plus cells) animal in the chronic stage of recovery (70 days after injury for the lesion control and 120 days after injury for the scaffold plus cells animal). The animals in the video perform near the mean for their groups. Although the lesion control animal exhibits movement in three of its joints, it lacks any weight-supported stepping. In contrast, the scaffold plus cells animal exhibits weight-supported stepping with some coordination.
