Genomic breakpoints in AML1 and ETO in t(8;21) and their correlation with topo II and DNase I HS sites. Genomic breakpoints are indicated schematically in the Kasumi 1 cell line and 22 leukemia patients with t(8;21). The locations of genomic breakpoints are indicated by the distance of nucleotide (bp) to exon 6 in AML1 or to exon 1a in ETO. DNA sequences of AML1 or ETO on der (21) are shown in discontinued dash, whereas those on der(8) are shown in continuous line. Genomic breakpoints in both AML1 and ETO in t(8;21) are clustered and correlated with topo II cleavage and DNase HS sites.
