Peptides bound to thymic Ab from Ea-Ii0, E0-dbl0, and H-2M0 mice were analyzed by mass spectrometry. The spectra shown for each mouse type are the average of scans over the range of peptide elution. Likely peptide sequences corresponding to the most prominent peaks are indicated in the table to the right of each spectrum. Peaks originating from the same peptide sequence with different charge states or other modifications are grouped together. The charge state (in parentheses) and peptide sequence are listed for each observed mass. In cases where the same terminal residue could occur at either end of the peptide sequence, the terminal residues are indicated as lower case. An asterisk indicates peptides that were sequenced using tandem mass spectrometry. Deviations from the expected mass that we have attributed to neutral mass loss of H2O (), addition of Na2+ (), or loss of a CH3SH group from methionine (§) are indicated.
