GATA-1 and p45/NF-E2 do not regulate the synthesis of each other in murine cell lines nor do they stably interact. (A) Western blots of GATA-1 and p45/NF-E2 expression in whole-cell lysates from equivalent numbers of cells. (B) Western blot to detect p45/NF-E2 immunoprecipitated from differentiated MEL cells by using either rabbit anti-p45/NF-E2 antisera or rat anti-GATA-1 antibody. Rabbit preimmune antisera (PI) and rat IgG were used to control for nonspecific immunprecipitation by the p45/NF-E2 and GATA-1 antibodies, respectively. Twenty five percent of the sample from the p45/NF-E2 immunoprecipitate was loaded on the gel. The input sample represents 3.3% of the whole-cell lysate used for each immunoprecipitation.
