Phylogenetic representation of the UreF urease component. Amino acid sequences of the UreF proteins were aligned using clustalw, and a neighbor-joining tree was generated from the alignment using the paup program. All nodes had bootstrap values in excess of 85%. Phylogenetic trees of the other urease components (UreC/D/E/G) were also generated and had similar overall topologies to the UreF tree, with the two Brucella suis ureases clustering with those of alpha- and gamma-proteobacteria, respectively.
