HAT inhibitory properties of histone H3-CoA conjugates. Inhibitory properties of two histone H3-CoA conjugates against Tetrahymena GCN5 (tGCN5). The enzyme, H3-20 peptide substrate, and acetyl coenzyme A concentrations were 2 nM, 10 mM, and 10 mM, respectively. The acetyltransferase activity over inhibitor concentrations ranging from 0 to 1,000 nM, for the H3-CoA-20 and H3-(Me)CoA-20 are shown in gray and hatched lined bars, respectively.
