None of the duplications or deletions that occurred during the 2,000 generations of adaptation to 41.5°C occurred during the initial adaptation to laboratory conditions. There is one possible deletion at approximately 4 MB. (c) A₆₀₆ vs. K-12 MG-1655 (the strain sequenced by Dr. Blattner’s lab). There are many regions of gene deletion in A₆₀₆ relative to K-12 MG-1655.
