Assay for macrophage-stimulating protein (MSP) in cell-culture medium from BEAS-2B cells. The presence of MSP in cell-culture medium from the control (BEAS) and env-transfected BEAS-2B cells (BEAS-env) was tested by ELISA as described [Danilkovitch, A., Miller, M. & Leonard, E. J. (1999) J. Biol. Chem. 274, 29937–29943). Positive controls were performed by adding recombinant human MSP (R & D Systems) to culture medium at concentrations of 0.1 and 1 nM. Each value represents the mean ±SE of two independent experiments.
