Fig. 5.
Flow cytometric analysis of spleen, bone marrow, and testis cells of W mice transplanted with bone marrow cells expressing GFP. Bone marrow cells from GFP mice were transplanted into the jugular veins of newborn W mice. Recipient mice were analyzed by FACS 8-9 months after bone marrow transplantation. Expression profiles of CD45 and GFP on spleen and bone marrow cells (A), testis SP cells (B), and bone marrow SP cells (C) from an age-matched control W mouse (Left) and a transplanted W (Right) are shown with quadrant statistics. Donor-derived hematopoietic cells (CD45+GFP+) were seen in spleen and bone marrow of W recipient (A). Donor-derived GFP+ cells were negligible in the testis SP cells, as defined by verapamil sensitive cells (B). Donor bone marrow cells (GFP+) contributed significantly (≈75%) to bone marrow SP cells of the recipient (C).
