Supplemental Figure 5Fig. 5.
Binding isotherms for the interaction of daunorubicin (open symbols) and WP900 (filled symbols) with (a) calf thymus DNA in 0.2 M NaCl buffered solution; (b) [poly (dGdC)]2 in 0.2M NaCl buffered solution; and (c) [poly (dGdC)]2 in 3 M NaCl buffered solution. Binding data were obtained by fluorescence titration. The normalized fluorescence intensity is shown as a function of total DNA concentration. The concentration of ligand was kept constant at 2 m M whereas the DNA concentration was varied between 1 mM and 0.01 m M. Curve fitting and determination of binding constants (shown in Table 1 in the main text) were carried out using nonlinear least-squares analysis.
