A cumulative probability distribution plot of mEPSC size for neurons overexpressing APP (n = 20) compared with control neurons (n = 25) is shown. Values for uninfected and GFP-expressing neurons were indistinguishable, and thus they were pooled as controls. The data points for each group were fit by the method of locally weighted linear regression using a medium LOWESS curve. The distributions are significantly different by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, indicating that APP overexpression reduces mEPSC size (D = 0.42, P = 0.03).
