Multidimensional movies of female cells in the pancreas of a boy with T1D and a boy with acute myeloblastic leukemia from autopsies. Images of each nucleus were acquired using a DeltaVision Microscopy system (Applied Precision, Issaquah, WA) followed by computational deconvolution (softWoRx; Applied Precision) resulting in a 3D data stack. Nuclei (stained with DAPI) are blue, Y chromosomes (fluoroscein) are green, and X chromosomes (Cy3) are red. Two X chromosome signals are observed within a clearly defined nucleus.
