Detection of CD45 (green fluorescence in A and E), CD45RO (green fluorescence in B and F), CD8 (yellow fluorescence in C and G), and glycophorin A (green fluorescence in D and H) in bone marrow (AD) and coronary vessels (EH). Human bone marrow (biopsy of the iliac crest) and human hearts were used as positive controls. Blue fluorescence reflects propidium iodide staining of nuclei in AH. Red fluorescence corresponds to cardiac myosin heavy chain labeling of myocyte cytoplasm in EH. Purple fluorescence corresponds to factor VIII antibody labeling of the endothelium in EH.
