Time-lapse video microscopy showing Rac localization during Salmonella infection. COS-2 cells expressing GFP-Rac were infected with wild-type S. typhimurium expressing dsRed. Frames were acquired every 30 s in the green and red channels. GFP-Rac is recruited to the sites of Salmonella entry and remains associated with the Salmonella-containing vacuoles as well as empty vacuoles generated during the course of infection.
