Late endosomes/lysosomes containing VSΚ3ΔK-YFP fuse with phagosomes containing newly ingested yeast.Wild-type cells expressing VSK3ΔK-YFP (green) were fed heat-killed, TRITC-labeled yeast (red) and were imaged over time by confocal microscopy to capture the engulfment process, the formation of a phagosome, and phagosome-lysosome fusion. Images were captured at 30-s intervals and are replayed at 5 frames/s.
