Fig. 7. Severe loss of DSec61α causes cell death in Drosophila cells. Synthesized dsRNA (12.5, 25, 50, 100, and 200 ng of each EGFP and DSec61α) was transfected into Drosophila S2 cells. Twenty-four hours after transfection, cell viability was determined. Please note that the severe reduction of DSec61α function induces cell death possibly caused by an acute induction of UPR and after ER stress. To avoid massive cell death caused by loss of DSec61α function, we used 25 ng of DSec61α dsRNA for other experiments in this study.
