Figure S7. Influence of FSAP on neointima formation in the mouse femoral artery after wire-induced injury. After injury, 100 µl of pluronic F-127 was applied to each artery either containing human single-chain FSAP (1 µg) or buffer. In the contralateral group, after injury to the left femoral artery the right artery received FSAP. After 21 d, vessels were processed for morphometric analysis as described in Materials and methods. (A) The area of the lumen (black bars), intima (dotted bars), and media (hatched bars) were determined (mean ± SD, n = 6 mice). (B) The neointima to media ratio was calculated. (C) Data are represented as a PCNA labeling index, defined as the percentage of total cells (DAPI) within the media and neointima positive for PCNA staining. (D) Endothelialization was determined by estimating the lumen coverage on a scale of 0-6 (0, no coverage; 6, complete coverage). Significance was analyzed by ANOVA followed by pair-wise comparison with Fishers least significant difference test. *, P
