Figure S1. Further characterization of the sex differences in PPAR expression in T cells. Total RNA was isolated from male and female naive or stimulated CD4+ cells from C57BL/6 (A and C, bottom), SJL/J (B), or SV.129 WT (C, top) mice or from naive SV.129 male or female WT and PPARα-/- mice (D). PPARα, PPARγ, and PPARδ cDNAs were amplified using real-time RT-PCR using specific primer sets. Abundance of these cDNAs was expressed relative to β-actin mRNA. Values are mean ± SEM of PPAR isoform/β-actin product abundance in triplicate reactions expressed in arbitrary units (AU).
